General Terms and Conditions
By ordering from our store, you accept the following terms and conditions.
So far, we have been able to renounce the production of a printed product catalogue. Not only does the printing of catalogues put a strain on our natural resources for raw materials, it also incurs substantial expenses, which we must pass on to you, our valuable customers.
Please help us maintain our low prices by refraining from making catalogue requests.
Placing Your Order
We accept your orders:
We shall appreciate it, if you quote your Customer Number with each order. Your Customer Number is printed on your previous invoices.
We are available via telephone Monday through Friday from 9 am to 6 pm.
We choose not to use toll-free telephone numbers because we must add expenses for these to our product prices, which we do not wish to do. An answering system will record your messages outside our office hours. We shall be happy to return your call to answer any queries.
Please take extra care when you provide your postal address. Unfortunately, order packages are often returned to us marked "Address Unknown". Delivery personnel must be able to find your shipping address. Please include any special instructions (including delivery counters, rear entrances or care-of addresses) with your order. Avoid placing orders just before you intend to move or go on a vacation. If necessary, please inform us of a reasonable delivery date with your order. We are compelled to charge you for multiple delivery attempts resulting from incorrect addresses provided with your order.
All orders are processed immediately. For items that are in stock, orders ship out of our warehouse in 4-6 days from the order date. This time increases when items are out of stock or must be custom manufactured. In certain cases, we make partial shipments, whereby out of stock or custom manufactured items are shipped separately. It is recommended that you provide your telephone number with your order, so we are able to inform you of any shipping details. SHOJI Doors, Beds and Futons typically ship in 4 to 8 weeks. For shipping delays due to unforeseen circumstances for custom manufactured products, a minimum of 2 weeks must be allowed.
All prices include VAT for all EU Countries. For orders outside EU Countries, we shall deduct the VAT from the indicated prices.
Prepayment by bank transfer:
Credit card payments and payments by your bank account are accepted through Paypals secure online transmission
Select this payment method if you like to
process your data on the phone to our staff. If you are already registered
customer ( with Customer no.) you may pay by
invoice. We will call you and organize the further procederes.
You need either VISA or MASTERCARD. The german VAT will be deducted from your invoice and not be charged.
You may pick up your goods from stock in D-14612 Falkensee ( close to Berlin) after arranging details. The indicated shipping costs will not be charged.
First-time customers in Germany must pay via Bank Transfer, Credit Card or by payment in advance. Customers outside Germany must pay in advance or by Credit Card. Returning customers must pay against our invoice within 6 days of order delivery. We do not accept EuroCheques.
When paying via Bank Transfer, please be certain to include your Customer Number and any other relevant information — so as to help us avoid errors, incorrect reminders and other additional work on our side. In cases where you gave us authorization for Direct Payment, but transferred to us an invoiced amount, please do not take any action. Our Billing Department takes note of double payments and shall return any such amount via Bank Transfer.
For special size SHOJI Doors, Beds, Futons and Tatamis as well as for all custom manufactured products, 30% of the product value must be paid in advance.
Shipping and Handling
Whenever possible, we ship orders either with Deutsche Post or with the couriers GLS. Heavy and oversized packages, such as Tatamis, Beds or Futons are shipped with other transport companies. Transport companies engaged by us are only obliged to deliver to the front door of your home. Delivery does not include assembly or installation.
All beds and daybeds will be delivered unmounted, assembly is made by the customer. Detailed instructions are always included.
Important Note for shipments to Non-EU countries
Shipments to Non- EU Countries are subject to local customs regulations. Any additional fees for import dutys claimed by local customs clearance have to be paid by the consignee directly to the local authorithies.
If the value of your order is above the limits, the shipping charges will not be charged, although our shipping calculator might display them.
If you order from non-EU countries, please note that you are not charged VAT,
although our billing system might display it on your invoice. Free Shipping for
order with net value above €2,500 from non-EU countries. This is a gross value
of 2,975 €.
In exceptional cases, special shipping charges or free shipping may have to be arranged.
Returns and Exchanges
You may cancel your order and return any ordered items to us within 1 month. The order must remain unused and in its original packaging. Please notify us in advance of any returns via telephone. If payment is made via Direct Debit, we shall transfer the amount to your account automatically. If payment is made via Bank Transfer, please deduct the value of the returned goods from the amount payable to us. Custom manufactured items, such as SHOJI Partitions, Beds, Futons and Textiles may not be exchanged or returned. CD´s with broken seals may not be exchanged or returned as well.
All shipments sent to us must be prepaid! We do not accept shipments that are not prepaid since shipping costs and related charges are prohibitively expensive. We urge your understanding that all packages sent to us that are not prepaid will be returned to you, together with the shipping costs.
We shall refund shipping costs to you for any legitimate returns or exchanges.
For best results, please call us if you have any questions or if you experience any anomalies with your order — most issues are resolved promptly and without complications.

Legal Validity of Terms and Conditions
Our order shipments, services and offers are subject to these Terms and Conditions. Buyers accept these Terms and Conditions upon order placement. Variations to these Terms and Conditions are valid only upon agreement in writing. This is especially applicable for variations or deviations thereof referring to the buyer. Any modifications or extensions to this agreement are valid only with our written consent.
Delivered items remain our property until and unless all our demands of sale are fulfilled. Mortgage, lease or transfer of such property to a third party is prohibited.
Jurisdiction and Applicable Laws
These terms and conditions will be governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. Place of jurisdiction for sales, services and for payments shall be Berlin. For distributor contracts as well as legal representatives related to public law, the jurisdiction shall be the law courts of Berlin. The German version is solely authoritative for interpretation of these Terms.
